Winner of the 2016 AIA Shreveport Merit Award, this high school, also known as BPSTIL, serves both students looking for college preparation for future STEM careers and students looking at high tech trade careers right out of school. The 110,000 sqft building combines the disciplines of biotechnology, information technology, health sciences and engineering with construction, automotive repair, and welding in a single higher education environment. The project meets the specific equipment requirements and asethetics of a technical facility within tight budget constraints. To reinforce the semi-real life settings in the classrooms, the campus itself projects a business/ college atmosphere instead of that of a traditional high school. The facility supports hands on learning through interactive classroom and shop environments, collaboration between students, and by supporting interaction between students and the community.
